Walk The Prouty Overview

What:
Northern New England’s largest fundraising event, The Prouty™, where participants can choose from four newly designed residential walks to exciting destinations like the Montshire Museum or choose an invigorating and scenic wooded walk on Oak Hill, all to help support an important cause.

When:
Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 6:30am to 5:00pm. Walking road support ends at 3:00pm, participants are asked to return to the Richmond Middle School by 4:00pm.)

The Details:

  • The Residential Walks (redesigned in 2016) give you more offerings to choose from: 3k, 6k, 9k or 12k
    • Longer distance walkers will enjoy navigating through historic Hanover, the campus of Dartmouth College or set your sights on the Montshire Museum to take in a little science and views of the Connecticut River
    • Residential routes are moderate-to-medium difficulty
    • For safety, late-date redirect checkpoints will be in effect to help ensure that walkers return by 3pm
  • Audrey’s 3k Walk, will now originate and conclude at the Prouty venue
    • Participants will walk to and from Kendal at Hanover, finishing at the Balloon Arch Finish Line
    • This walk was purposely designed to be a shorter and more manageable route, whether for families with young children or participants dealing with the effects of cancer treatment
  • The Wooded Walks (5k, 10k) navigate the beautiful, shady Oak Hill Trail system adjoining Storrs Pond
    • The 5k Wooded Walk is a moderate-to-challenging level of difficulty
    • The 10k wooded route has climbs of moderate elevation and is a more challenging route, but participants are rewarded with scenic views of Hanover
    • Supported by seasoned medical volunteers from the Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team

Please note: all road support ends at 3:00 pm
